Areas of Specialism - Mr. Godfrey specialises in family work and is a Member of the Children Panel (Adult Party Representative) as well as a Member of the Family Law Panel, for which he specialises in divorce and ancillary relief cases. He also undertakes employment law preparing proper procedures for employers and advising employees including representation in unfair dismissal and discrimination claims.

Career - Ian Godfrey was admitted on the 1st April 1977, and has been a Partner of the firm since 1979. Ian attended Highgate School and Leicester University where his Professor the late Edward Grey (the author of the book on the Theft Act) introduced him to David Levy of D.H. P. Levy & Co., in London where he did his articles.

Mr. Godfrey is a Higher Courts (Criminal) Advocate and has vast experience of all types of criminal cases. He  specialises in road traffic and excess alcohol cases including Special Reasons arguments. He deals with the most serious crimes, including a number of serious fraud cases.

Mr. Godfrey was the administrator of the Local Duty Solicitor Scheme for many years representing local solicitors on the local Committees and Court User Groups and at regional level and was one of the few solicitors on the National Duty Solicitor Committee.
